Ofgem Price Cap Increase

  • Published Oct 01, 2024

The Ofgem price cap change comes into effect today (1st October), which may result in higher bills for some energy consumers.

You can find more information about the changes to the Energy Price Cap on the Ofgem website. It includes a detailed explanation of the adjustments and what they might mean for your bill. The site also offers guidance if you're struggling to pay your energy bills, along with general advice on your bills, as well as your rights including complaints.

With the potential for higher bills, and as we move into the colder months, consumers may face uncertainty. This highlights the importance of our role in supporting energy consumers if they have a dispute with their supplier.

The Energy Ombudsman provides a free and impartial service to help resolve disputes between consumers and energy suppliers.

If you’ve experienced issues with your energy supplier, you must contact them directly as a first step. If you're unable to reach a satisfactory solution, or if the complaint remains unresolved after eight weeks, you can raise a dispute with us at www.energyombudsman.org.
